IMPACT TRAVEL ALERT: This winter, my friends at @theassemblagenyc are leading a trip to Mexico, to renovate a local school in Mexico City with @glasswingi and learn about sustainable agriculture in Xochimilco canal district THEN head to an energetic hotspot in the jungle called @hostaldelaluz for a chance to reflect, reconnect, and learn from the experience. I did this trip two years ago and it rocked my world: it was at a period of transition for me, and it helped open me to a new world of spirituality, consciousness, and new tools I could use to understand and access my own potential in the world. 2 years ago - I started a passion project in the health and wellness space. This past year I studied and received my personal training certification through @acefitness to legitimize this wellness business I call Stoke Coach (@stoke_coach). It was put on the back burner for a while when I got hired into a full-time position, but in full transparency, a couple weeks ago, I got laid off from that job. It's a bummer for sure and I really enjoyed my role, but now I know deep down in my soul my true purpose is to help inspire people to be active, fit, get outside more, eat healthier, and challenge their comfort zone as a Stoke Coach and Personal Trainer. As we sit at our desks and look at our multitude of screens, getting outside, exploring our child like awe and wonder, and creating a life where we move naturally during our days is more important than ever (DYK - 100 years ago only 10% of us had sedentary jobs, whereas today we’re at 90 %). I want to help erase the barrier of entry into the outdoors, and help people climb their own personal peak - whether that's making time to be active and outdoors every day, try hiking for the first time, facilitating adventures into the mountains or on the water. Let's get back into that beginner mindset where we are more open to learning new things, pushing ourselves, and having some fun (even though it might be some type-ll)!
